The institute publishes a preprint series, which contains research results of its members and its visitors. The Old Series contains 34 titles and the New Series, which began in 1994, currently has 7 titles. Frequently these preprints are published later as papers in the formal scientific literature. The preprint archive is maintained by Professor P. Farrell (Kent, Ohio, USA) and is available at http://inca.cs.kent.edu

In the academic year 1992/3 the Institute cooperated with the University of Liverpool, UK in launching an MSC course in advanced scientific computation. This was held under the auspices of the EUROFORM program of the European Commission. The course was taken by over 12 students from EC countries.

The Institute acts as host, and frequently as sponsor, to visitors from all parts of the world. Senior visitors in recent years have come from: Argentina, Bulgaria, Qatar, Russia, Spain and USA.

Formerly the Institute maintained an extensive library of books and journals; these were subsequently donated to the library in the Department of Mathematics, Trinity College, Dublin.

The institute played a major role in the foundation and early support of ISSEC, the Irish Society for Scientific and Engineering Computation.

Members of INCA have been actively involved as partners or associates in more than 17 research contracts in the Framework Programmes of the European Commission. They have also been involved in national research programmes of Enterprise Ireland.

To an outstanding teacher of Applied Mathematics, at the secondary school level, INCA presents each year the V. W. Graham Perpetual Trophy for Achievement in Applied Mathematics. For details see http://www.spd.dcu.ie/moreilly/vgt.htm

The Institute holds an annual symposium at various venues in Ireland. It also sponsors workshops/conferences on relevant themes organised by other organisations.
